Recap

We started our research and ground journey few years ago, but field pilots started in 2020. We are trying to connect natural farmers with customers while utilizing

- Shastra (Ayurveda & SowaRigpa / Vrkshayurveda / Paaka Shastra) and

- Traditions (TKDL / sanathana sampradaya / Gau Sampradaya)

in light of modern technologies/sciences (to evidence our approach).

Starting with sourcing heirloom varieties which are native to that environment (in-situ?) grown in a sustainable and symbiotic fashion, farmed in natural ways respecting nature, stored & value-added keeping in mind nature of crop and customers health/consumption season (Rtu Kaala).

Inspired by Ashtanga Hridayam (Dina Charya, Rtu Charya and Anna samrakshana) during school days, Dr Sethumadhavan (at Palappuram Kutipravesika), Kerala Kalamandalam (food intertwined into Art), our grand parents/village life (where we had seasonal native foods) and last but not the least so called modern schooling which guided us (ha ha - - -vely..) to rediscover the art of good food.

Ahara, Nidra, Brahmacharya..upastambha sutrani

We are honored if we can attest or verify the process using Technology (for traceability, Farm intel system, water harvesting),

and modern health & farming standards/certifications (viz., Jaivik, PGS, Organic, Fairtrade/WFTO, SlowFood, IndGAAP)

while partnering with local research bodies (like CSIR TKDL, JNTU OTRI, CIMAP, IHBT, NIN, CFTRI etc.,)

and being open minded towards modern bio compatible (pesticides/extracts) where traditions fall short in modern times.

Some of the learnings

...... natural farmers are scattered and their produce is small and seasonal,

......last mile connectivity issues

,......farm onsite organic testing, ......transport for perishable/fruits for small farmers like say 50-100 kilos,

------grading of produce and grading standards for native varieties,

------farm personal visit.

Our journey continues as we gather researchers, seed conservationists, natural farmers/FPOs

Well wishers: Vaidya Smt.Lakshmi Meghana, MD (Ayu), Dr Makam Shivakiran (Defence Food Scientist - BioTechnology Innovations),

Dr O.S.Ramachandraih (Retd OTRI Scientist), Sri S Chandrasekhar Gupta (Retd Dy Agriculture Director), Sri Kapadam Subbaiah (Natural Farmer, Ayyavaripalli), Sri Brahmam (Nati Vaidya, Dronachalam)

Inspired by AAHF, CSIR-TKDL, PAHRC, SVRIT, CSE, ICMR-NITM, India Biodiversity, Indian Medicinal Plants, Dr GV Purnachand (Bhojana Kutuhalam writer) and Smt Gangaraju Arunadevi (Paaka Darpana writer at AndhraJyothi newspaper), Sri Chand Basha (Gaurakshak, Bantupalli), Kerala Kalamandalam, WHO-GCTM, CCRAS, Shreevidya Pathasala, SDMC.

Key Goals

- Creation of Indigenous/native/pure seed bank.

- Curation of digital genetic data.

- Creation of knowledge Bank of traditional practices/sustainable practices in agriculture, processing and value addition (practices well-documented and validated from ayurveda, vrikshayurveda, bhojan kutoohala, pashu ayurveda & others)

- Dissemination of seeds and knowledge bytes (knowhows) to the users (farmers, customers, researchers, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts)

- Supporting the entrepreneurs emerging from the above three initiatives. Support in implementation, validation, certification, market, value-addition, processing and finance (govt/non-govt)

- General training (modern and ancient) and mentoring for multi disciplinary teams needed for any startup enterprise.

Key Impact-

Restoration of indigenous seeds and practices

Protection and propagation of native genepool

Ensuring the genetic security

Enterprise creation that leads to employment, innovation and social impact

Continuation of knowledge through sustainable way

Tripartite sustainable relation between producers/farmers, consumers, and enterprises in a locally/culturally relevant way
